Reno Couples Session with a dog

couples

Real moments, carefully created

Some locations don’t announce themselves. There’s no sweeping vista, no dramatic overlook. Just soft afternoon light, a small lake, a few unhurried ducks, and two people who are genuinely, quietly crazy about each other — plus one very good dog who had opinions about the whole thing. That’s exactly what made Will and Kendall’s Reno couples session in Reno so good.

Natural doesn’t mean unguided

The images from Will and Kendall’s session look effortless — and that’s exactly the goal, but it doesn’t happen by accident. I spend a lot of energy at the start of a session helping people settle in: where to put their hands, how to move together, how to stop thinking about the camera. By the time Remmy was pulling them toward the water and they were laughing about it, they’d forgotten I was there. That’s not luck. That’s the whole plan.

Why a simple location can produce extraordinary images

I hear it sometimes: do we need to go somewhere special? Will, Kendall, and Remmy are proof that you don’t. What makes a couples session is never the backdrop — it’s the connection between the people in it, and the energy they bring. A lakeside path in a city park, at the right hour, with a dog who has no concept of bad timing, produces images that belong on a wall. These do.

What to expect from a couples session with me

I keep sessions relaxed and low-key — because the images are better that way, and because you deserve to actually enjoy the hour. Honestly, bringing your dog helps more than people realize. Remmy kept Will and Kendall loose and laughing, which meant I was catching real expressions instead of posed ones. The moment one of them bent down to give him attention. The glance they exchanged when he did something ridiculous near the water. Those are the images you’ll want 20 years from now, and they only happen when nobody’s trying too hard.

People underestimate this city. There’s real beauty here — the light is generous, the parks are underused, and you can find quiet pockets that feel far removed from the rest of it. A Reno couples session doesn’t need a dramatic backdrop. Sometimes a lake, good light, and a dog is exactly enough.

Location Pins

One of Reno’s best-kept secrets — a winding trail system through the southwest part of the city, with several ponds, mature trees, footbridges, and more ducks than you’d expect to find in the high desert. The exact spot where Will, Kendall, and Remmy’s session took place is pinned on the map below. It’s peaceful, pretty, and the kind of place you walk past slowly.
